Below are two different linear pleating systems. Aside from the difference in scale, they also vary in angle height. The larger the angle, the more depth the system provides. When I say depth, I’m referring to the overall height of the pleating system. Notice in the mapped out design that all the pleats face the same way. This allows for the fold form to stay on the same plane, rather than curling around itself. In the diagrams below, the black line indicates a cut-line.
